Peter Jones (ILG) Limited
||Peter Jones began
his working life as an apprentice saddler eventually
attaining status as a master saddler based in
the Welsh border town of Abergavenny, a town steeped
in the history of leather and tanneries.

reputation for quality became more widely known,
by popular demand his traditional skills were
extended to the manufacture of other industrial
leather goods. Among the sought after products
were school satchels, bullion bags, cash bags,
dog handling/training accessories and hand-held
radio cases. Eventual acceptance to public procurement
contracts for police and fire department equipment
was achieved. More successful opportunities followed
and consequently in 1967, Peter Jones (ILG) Limited
was established as a manufacturer of industrial
saw the beginning of revolutionary changes in
police communications and security equipment.
Peter Jones (ILG) Limited responded to the market
with innovative designs combining traditional
leather with modern synthetic materials and the
latest technology. In order to accommodate an
ever-increasing workload, in 1989 a modern factory
unit was purchased followed by a second engineering
and storage unit in 1998.

follows two product-lines -
- Communications: hand-held radio and instrument
cases and accessories
- Police and Security: accoutrement holsters,
pouches, belts, harnesses and wallets etc.

products are based on the specific requirements
of relevant agencies whose advice and co-operation

||From the early days
of Peter Jones operating as a lone tradesman in
a Victorian built workshop, the business has grown
to its present stature as a family-run limited
company, managed since Peter’s retirement
as Managing Director in 2003, by his eldest son
Morgan Jones. Two other family members are among
twenty-nine administrative and production personnel.
||Peter Jones products
are marketed in many different countries around
the world, either directly by the company or by
its many partners, something Peter could only
have dreamed of when first starting out in business.
||The objective of
Peter Jones (ILG) Limited is to continue developing
new ideas for application in the current market
and like Peter, nearly forty years ago, to maintain
evolutionary awareness ensuring its place as a
leader in the leather goods manufacturing industry.
